The world has the crisis of migration. This situation has led to the problem of social inclusion, which can be seen all over Europe. With this migration, lots of problems have shown up like accommodation, health issues, employment, and education which is our main concern. The most suffering ones are the children as usual.Helping the children to overcome these difficulties mean helping all the people to overcome as well. The best place to do this is the school and the most suitable people to help for this are the teachers.Any person may ignore these problems but the teachers do not have this opportunity. All the public expect the teachers to get in charge to solve this problem even if it is subconsciously. Having worked on other projects, we have partners and meeting on social platforms, we have discovered that they have similar problems with the refugees and migrants (RMS).Discussing these, we have decided to start a project for the educational integration of the RMS.At the beginning of our project we will create a questionnaire to find out the current situation of the inclusion of the RMS into education. We will apply a pre-questionnaire at the beginning and a post-questionnaire at the end of the project to the participants and their evaluation reports will be shared online with the public. The staff chosen for the mobilities will be the ones who work with RMS, good at English, ICT skills, communication, open to challenges, innovation and changes, eager to work in European studies, motivated to work in an international team.We have two Joint staff events in the project. The first joint staff event is a training about strategies to promote inclusive practices and how to foster students’ tolerance and intercultural awareness. The second joint-staff event is a training/workshop on Official Development Assistance (ODA) as aid to asylum seekers/refugees is a part of ODA.This event will help initiate humanitarian activities for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in general. We will attend in 2 transnational project meetings to discuss and determine the details of project implementation. We have planned two student exchanges with 4 students, 2 accompanying people from each institution and 2 participants from SEHITKAMIL MEM and AIS as facilitators for these exchanges. The participants will find out the similarities and differences of problems between different European countries on this field and raise the participants’ awareness of living together in a harmony no matter where they are from. Having students in the exchanges will contribute to creating Survival Kit while observing their behaviours during the activities. As it is in every project, we will decide on our logo via a contest among our participants. We will use the social media channels and e-Twinning to prove and disseminate about our project, activities and outcomes. We will provide links on our institutional websites to our project for dissemination and to be available to anyone, anywhere. At the end of the project each partner will organize local conference to disseminate our project results. At least 3000 people will be expected to be informed about the results. The conferences will be advertised and announced on social media channels, web sites and e-Twinning portal. The teachers working with the RMS will be entitled to join it.The project will be announced and advertised with materials such as pens, files, posters, brochures, banners in each partner institution and local authorities throughout the project.During and after the project, we will go on working on it on e-Twinning portal. The participants will improve their ICT, linguistic skills, creative thinking, they will adopt the notion of active European citizenship, they will experience being a member in international teams, exchange their ideas on equity, diversity and inclusion towards different cultures.
The participants will see the real current situation of refugee and migrant students(RMS) who have faced hard situations, they will develop pedagogical competence in the field of integration of RMS in an innovative way with the help of Survival Kit, improve their linguistic, ICT skills and cultural awareness, they will raise the awareness of European citizenship, have a better understanding of team work.
The organizations will make a great contribution to finding solutions of the RMS’ problems by developing Survival Kit which will help RMS adopt to the learning environment. They will make digital publishing to create the e-book version of the “Survival Kit” and use the results as a tool to disseminate the teachers who deal with integration of RMS into the educational environment, strengthen their relationships among the local, regional, national and international institutions, be a model in exchanging good practices and motive other institutions in their region to take part in European Union projects. The decision makers about RMS in participating organisations will have a European point of view on integration.
